Marti + Levi Engagement Photos
What a fun time we had with this lovely couple. Our plan was to take a roady to Red Lodge for some fun engagement photos for Marti and Levi, but the weather was looking, oh so rough. Large thunder storms in Billings and Red Lodge the few days before and they were still present in the forecast. I debated holding off the session, but these guys drove 200 miles to get here so that wasn’t an option.
Levi is a fisherman so we planned to do some fly fishing images in Rock Creek but it was straight up white water rapids that day. The rain and run off sort of squashed that idea. In the end we had about a 10 minute rain fall so we took a few umbrella portraits then debated where to finish the night for sunset photos. Levi has a family friend that lives on the plateau below the mountains. Man… was that a beautiful area. Thanks goes out to the family and Levi for allowing us access.
In the end the weather made one of the most beautiful skies I have ever seen. The clouds started rolling in thick over the mountains and they brought heavy rainfall with them. The moisture in the air filled the sky and as the last bits of sunlight left the horizon a hole opened up in the clouds to let a beautiful orange glow ignite all the water in the air causing an orange wall to form in front of all the dark blue clouds and mountains. I only wish a camera was as good as your eyes. It was a sunset I hope to never forget.
